Two new flagship devices from Samsung, the Galaxy S8 and the bigger Galaxy S8 Plus, are out in the Samsung tablet wholesale market. With the standard model of S8 also featuring curved screen, the differences between the two new models are not much obvious as the differences between Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The comparison of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus shared by wholesale tablets dealers would help you know how these models differ in terms of design and display.
Both Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have identical designs, with glass back, metal frame, and small bezels located above and below the screen. Both the models do not have a physical home button and the fingerprint scanner is provided on the back of the device near to the camera. Both the devices are dust and water-resistant and feature IP68 rating.
The difference is in the size of the devices. The specification of Samsung Galaxy S8 is 148.9 x 68 x 8 mm, whereas that of Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is 159 x 74 x 8 mm. Both the devices are of the same thickness, but Galaxy S8 Plus appears to be much longer and a bit wider than the Galaxy S8.
We all know that the screen of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is much different from that of Galaxy S7, as it is curved. However, this difference is not present in this year’s models, as both the models features curved Infinity display. This is the reason the Edge name is ditched by Samsung. Both the devices use Super AMOLED displays and have widescreen aspect ratio of 18.5:9 with a very high resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. This resolution is an upgrade over the 1440 x 2560 resolution of previous year’s models.
As said, the size of the screen is the main difference between the two models. The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch display, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has a 6.2-inch display. This means that the display of the S8 Plus is not as sharp as the S8 since the pixels per inch of the device is low, but an average user will not easily notice this difference.
These are some of the prime differences between the latest flagship models of Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is not only larger but also heavier than the S8 model, but the device will not weigh you down.
