One of the most frustrating issues reported by iPad users is that their device often gets stuck or frozen. If your iPad is getting frozen on a regular basis, then it might be due to the presence of a corrupt app. However, in certain cases, minor software glitches in your iPad might be the major culprit behind the issue.
Before you proceed to any of the troubleshooting methods that are described below, make sure to simply restart your device because it might solve the issue. If you have already tried that, below are a few simple tips on how to fix a frozen iPad.
Reboot the iPad
In most cases, a simple reboot of the tablet will most likely speed up your iPad. Rebooting the device will efficiently flush the memory used by the iPad for active applications and shut down unnecessary apps that are causing issues.
- Gently hold the Wake/Sleep button and the Home button of your tablet together until the screen of the device goes dark.
- Wait for a couple of minutes and then gently press the Sleep/Wake button of the iPad until you see the Apple logo on the screen of your device.
Check whether your device is still getting stuck or frozen. If yes, proceed to the next step.
Delete the Corrupted App
If any one of the apps in your iPad is operating at a slow pace, then it might be the root cause of the issue. Uninstalling and deleting the application from your iPad might help you solve the issue.
- Press your finger on the app and hold it until you see an X icon on the top right corner of your screen.
- Touch the X button to remove the app.
- Click Yes if prompted.
Now, simply restart your iPad and leave it undisturbed for a few minutes. After that, thoroughly examine your device and check whether the issue or solved or not. If the issue is resolved, go to the app store of your tablet and select the Purchased tab to find the deleted application. Reinstall the application if you wish to use it in the future.
However, you will have to note that all the data stored within the application will get deleted when the app is deleted. So, backup the data before you delete the app from your iPad.
